I delight in the process of discovery to create what clients envision. User-experience research and interface design are essential in my development process.

As a member of a team tasked to examine programs and provide recommendations to improve existing agency processes, we collected qualitative and quantitative data from internal and external participants worldwide. Analysis resulted in a need to provide means to educate asynchronously and the creation of a prototype of an online learning module.
To improve digital communications and knowledge management systems, I collaborated with agency-wide committees. I created wireframes and prototypes of interfaces for a web portal connecting multiple agency systems and external sites.
Working with an education resource development team, I developed interactive prototypes incorporating multimedia products into learning modules—videos, animation, image galleries, podcasts.
In order to pique interest of users and have them deeply explore content, I enjoy analyzing complex concepts, finding applications of new technologies and designing clear interfaces to engage users with the content. As such, multimedia production has been an integral part of my role in project development by creating animation, videos, audio files, image compositions, and illustrations.
Transforming images and videos from the field into educational videos required close collaboration with subject matter experts and educators.
I transformed audio files into educational resources such as podcasts, incorporated into videos, language lessons and translated stories to other languages.
To engage students to explore various topics, I designed and included interactivity into educational modules.
I collaborated with game developers, subject matter experts and educators to develop, launch and promote the educational game.
At times, I would create digital illustrations using brushes, blends, gradient meshes, patterns, and freehand—to use as logos or incorporated into other products.
Delighting in finding ways to integrate new technologies in web development, digital strategies, collaboration, and data analysis is essential in my daily process.
As an independent contractor, interviewing clients and engaging in constant communications are a must to create products they envision for themselves.
To engage students to explore content deeply, I used story telling methods presented through the use of multimedia.
I constantly evaluated analytics and user feedback to direct design and to enhance processes.
To maintain the rich content presented on the website, I trained staff and interns to populate a content management system with data and media.
My skills easily transfer to marketing projects—planning annual campaigns, research, data analytics, design, production and delivering presentations. As such, I’ve produced assets across all channels—print, online, social media, email, displays, and presentations.
I developed and implemented strategic plans to promote products online and in print, social media channels and national education conferences.
I design and produce multimedia assets—books, magazines, brochures, catalogues, banners, posters, etc— distributed at conference exhibit booths, give-aways, and online channels.
To communicate with program participants, I established and managed accounts with online marketing companies, video conference platforms, email and social media accounts.
While away from the computer, I find it relaxing to work on random creative projects.
Designing and creating my own jewelry is a meditative process for me—from arranging the gems in a pleasing order to wire wrapping each one.
After seeing the light pouring through the foilage at the actual garden, I finally understood the many versions I've seen in museums, books and in print and was able to create my own version.
I first learned to take photos using my Dad's camera from the 1950s. I love the smell of film and adjusting the camera through its dials. I still take the camera out for a spin occassionally :)
Learning to build a planter after running of space in the backyard to grow more flowers and vegetables was a fun weekend project.
